BENEFITS of Zena hollow fibre submerged membranes.

Clean water drawn through fibre walls, solids remain behind.

No pressure vessels, only open tanks
Nominal pore size of 0.1 micron,is smaller than bacteria
Low energy use for pressure differential under 50 kPa.

                   Suitable for high solids concentration

Simple automatic control for minimum supervision.

System settings easily modified for optimum operation.

Backflush water recycled for minimum water waste .

                   Lifetime of several years.

                   No chemical dosing needed.

Available as  just modules with up to 100  bundles,

                             or with system components package.

Packages    - 12 v dc for solar or wind power

                                                         under 1000 l/day

                               - 240v ac for 5000 to 40,000 l/day

Zena microfiltration modules are made up of thousands of long hollow fibres 0.3 mm diameter outside, and 0.2 mm hollow centre diameter. Suction , usually less than 50 kPa,applied to the hollow centres draws clean bacteria free water from outside the fibres. Suspended solids including bacteria remain on the outside of the fibres.

Solids build up on the surface and around the membranes is controlled by a combination of periodic backflush with treated water, and agitation by air bubbles.

Long term development of biofilms may require chemical cleaning .
