MICRO 100M  description.

CONTACT
Micro 100M
hand operated for emergency use.
Output 40+ litres/hour.

Produces bacteria free water from contaminated flood waters.
This hand operated unit is specifically designed to provide drinking water to flood victims surrounded by water with high concentration of suspended solids, as well as dangerous bacteria.

Set up in minutes.
The unit is around 40 kg and is a complete package ready to operate.

Just fill & move the handle.
Operation commences by filling the unit with the dirty water, setting valves in the correct position and working the handle of the pump.  Clean water first fills the clear discharge tube, and then overflows for collection.

Air keeps solids in suspension.
The (black) hand pump is used periodically to push air to  the bottom of the membrane tank. Air bubbling up the membrane enclosing tube mixes the floating solids throughout the tank, and  prevents build up around the fibres.

Drain solids to waste.
Some raw water must be drained to waste at  regular periods to limit the concentration of solids which will have built up as only clean water is extracted.

Zena membranes
The essential element of Micro 100M are the Zena  membrane bundles which consist of hundreds of fine hollow fibres.
These hollow fibres have semiporous walls with a nominal poresize of 0.1 microns.

Bacteria rejected.
Clean water can pass through the fibre walls, but bacteria and visible suspended solids cannot.

Low pressure differential

Pressure needed to force water through the pores is quite low, because the overall surface area of the fibres is very large compared to other types of filter.

Flow reversal for cleaning.
Periodic flow reversal of clean water back through the fibres lifts accumulated dirt out of the pores.  The air agitation moves this dirt into the surrounding water, preventing it's immediate return to the fibres.

Flow reversal control.
The valves on the unit are used to reverse flow between membrane and discharge tube.
